      A new breakthrough of 2AVCom!     

      We have developed an entirely genuine product, the device being dreamed of by almost all musicians who can work hard yet treasuring the fruits of their effort and talent. You may have whatever you have. It may be YAMAHA PSR 550, 1100 or any other PSR model. Likewise, it may be KORG of 01/W, i, N and T Series, or ROLAND of VA, XP, E, EM and G... Series; or ENSONIQ TS or MR.

   The list may be too long to proceed any further. Possibly, it is not so hard to find out the feature which is common to all above-mentioned musical instruments. That's the availability of a built-in floppy disk drive. Both of us, the designers and end-users, are well aware of the incessant problems posed by diskettes. Now and then, at the most crucial moment when everything seems to go so smooth, all hopes may at once be ruined by an irrecoverable loss of so valuable, so helpful and so needful data. To avert such a calamity, the most expensive models of synthesizers use, though commonly as an optional feature which has to be paid for, hard disks (HD) that are recognized as more reliable and more lasting data storage media. Needless to say that even such things cannot guarantee data safety, as they contain some mechanical parts rubbing against each other and therefore cannot be safe enough due to wear and tear.

Floppy 2AVCom in Yamaha PSR

     2AVCom experts have created a musical data storage unit UNIFLASH-USB device working on solid state media such as SD Cards. This unit is mountable inside your synthesizer or any other musical instrument, thus adding much to ease and convenience of operation. The UNIFLASH is a universal thing. For instance, you can use it alternatively with a Yamaha, with a Roland and with a Korg, whatever. The UNIFLASH-USB can be programmed for almost every instrument containing a floppy disk drive. You can set your UNIFLASH-USB device to handle any SD of any capacity you like. The SD leading manufacturers give a 5-year warranty for their products, some of them even more than that!!!

   The UNIFLASH-USB is absolutely noiseless in its operation, as there are no rubbing components inside. What is more, neither dust nor a salt breeze blowing ashore would do you any harm. Your efforts, otherwise volatile, would become more fruitful and much easier at that! Last but not least is the fact that whenever you would wish to remove the UNIFLASH-USB device from your instrument, which is almost unlikely to happen, you can do it without any consequences, as the UNIFLASH-USB device is a complete all-in-one module which does not require any physical re-tailoring of your synthesizer. If it is still to happen, all data would be preserved and could be used with another, perhaps more advanced and more expensive instrument.

     It's very easy to operate the UNIFLASH-USB module. The card space is divided into databanks (or virtual diskettes), each bank being equivalent to a 1.44-Mb diskette. The quantity of banks depends on the capacity of the card. The current bank number is displayed on the remote control panel and is chosen with the control panel buttons. The number FLOPPY means accessing the synthesizer disk drive. The numbers 001 to ÕXÕ correspond to the databanks (virtual diskettes). Max banks 999. The panel right button increments and the left one decrements the current bank number. Simultaneous pressing of the buttons resets the number to FLOPPY. The display flashing means that your selection has been accepted. A flashing dot in the first character means accessing the card memory.

     The UNIFLASH-USB unit is provided with databank protection against accidental erasure. To protect the databank one can use either the control panel or the 2AVCom HOST soft-ware. (See: Installation and Running of 2AVCom HOST software.) To make sure whether the bank is protected or unprotected, one should simultaneously press and hold down both panel buttons until either P2 or E2 appears on the panel, P2 meaning that the bank is protected while E2 that it is unprotected, i.e. enabled for data saving. To unprotect the databank, one should simultaneously press and hold down both panel buttons until ÅÅ appears on the panel. To protect the data bank against accidental erasure, simultaneously press and hold down both panel buttons until ÐÐ appears on the panel. Whenever a new Compact Flash Card is inserted, the UNIFLASH-USB automatically goes into the synthesizer type setting mode, with the displayed characters enclosed in brackets [ ]. Press any button on the control panel and you will see the current type of synthesizer dis-played. Set the required type of synthesizer (See: Table 1) and in a couple of seconds it will be written to the card, whereupon the erasure protection is removed from all data banks which nonetheless however preserve their current data. To enter this mode later on, just press any button on the control panel during the power-on self-test procedure. This procedure is displayed on the panel as a changing sequence of numbers 01 à 02 à 00. After inserting a new card, the banks contain some random data. Therefore before using any bank, one should format it (like a diskette). The most convenient way to do this is to use a computer and the program enclosed with the device. However, one can alternatively use the format function of the synthesizer.

   Presumably, many of you copied diskettes, say, on Yamaha PSR 630. What a boredom! Às to PSR 340, it is practically unwieldy when it comes to diskettes. To simplify data processing and some other operations, a UNIFLASH-USB-to-PC communication program has been written. A diskette with this program named 2AVCom HOST is enclosed with the UNIFLASH-USB device. Besides, the latest version of this program is always available at our site. Using it, one can directly perform all sorts of operations on the CFC databanks from a computer, such as copying, deleting, renaming, formatting, whatever. The program is also very handy in operation.

2AVCom Host

   The UNIFLASH-USB device comes in a package with a controller unit, connection cables, remote control panel, installation disk with the 2AVCom HOST Program, Installation Manual, User's Manual and mounting accessories. In other words, the package contains absolutely everything needed for mounting the UNIFLASH-USB device inside an instrument which can be done by everyone who has got a screwdriver and at least knows how to use it. The UNIFLASH-USB device is a high-end and very reliable unit tailored to meet the most rigorous requirements. Its reliability has been proven by time and by personal experience of a host of musicians. From now on, forget about your flimsy diskettes and about the problems they might draw you in.
